Named a Top 10 Destination Marathon by and one of the world’s most “exotic” marathons by CNN Travel, the BMO Vancouver Marathon is a Boston Qualifier that takes runners on a 42.2 kilometre (26.2 miles) adventure past beaches, through natural parks, and along Vancouver’s bustling Seawall. With the whole city behind you, you’re bound to reach your goal! Discover one of the world’s “most livable cities” by foot and witness the community support that has encapsulated the event since its inception in 1972. Vancouver is a great city to have a run in, marathon or not. Travellers to Vancouver, tourists and visitors will find this event a great reason to visit Vancouver.

BMO Vancouver Marathon – Half Marathon

Start Line: Queen Elizabeth Park
Finish Line: West Pender St. (between Bute St. & Thurlow St.)
Capped: 10,000 runners
Age: 16+ (anyone under the age of 18 must have parental consent)w
Registration Deadline: TBD

New Tech: The latest app in running technology, RunGo, will provide runners with a sense of direction with turn-by-turn voice navigation for the Marathon, Marathon Relay, Half Marathon and 8KM routes. This innovative running app will help prepare and familiarize BMO Vancouver Marathon runners leading up to race day. Runners can train with the RunGo app to help acclimate them with the course prior to race day.

BMO Vancouver Marathon – 8KM course

Start Line: Lagoon Drive, between the Fish House Restaurant and the Pitch and Putt (near Ceperley Park) – Meet us at Burrard & Cordova and hop in our FREE Shuttle to the Start Line
Finish Line: Downtown, West Pender St. (between Bute St. & Thurlow St.)
Capped: 2,500 Participants (including 500 in the School Challenge)
Age: 11+ (anyone under the age of 18 must have parental consent)

BMO Vancouver Marathon – Kids Fun Run
Date: Saturday, May 2, 2015
Time: 11:00am*
Start: Ceperley Park, Stanley Park
Finish: Ceperley Park (2.5KM loop in Stanley Park)
Capped: 500 Participants
Age: 5-12 (all participants must have parental consent)
Registration Deadline: TBA
Registration Fees : $25 (Prices do not include GST or online processing fee)

The picturesque Start Line at Queen Elizabeth Park is located at the top of Little Mountain – a small ascent in the centre of the city. For runners, this is where the excitement kicks off; this is where the magic happens!

After taking a free Canada Line ride or shuttle bus to the Start Line, gather with friends at the entrance of the park just off Cambie Boulevard with its famous 100 year-old trees. Next, experience a motivational pre-race ceremony with music, warm up, and an upbeat welcome from City dignitaries, with breathtaking views and budding blooms of spring.

Package Pickup is located at the Health, Sports and Lifestyle Expo at the new Vancouver Convention Centre West. Pick up your race package anytime during expo hours prior to race day.
