Medina Café opens Monday-Friday at 8am. On Saturday and Sunday Medina Café opens at 9am, and expect some long lines for their fabulous brunch menu. White chocolate, rose water and pistachio sauce come with their warm, light and fluffy, belgian style waffles.

The Templeton 1087 Granville St. (at Helmcken St.)
The Templeton is a cozy, old-school diner style place that serves up organic and delicious food in the heart of Vancouver’s entertainment district on Granville Row. Open Daily from 8:30 am, this is a hidden gem! The also do a great gourmet burger and very indulgent milkshake.

Catch 122 Café Bistro 122 West Hastings Street (btw Abbott & Cambie)
Opened M-F from 8am, and Saturday & Sundays from 9am. The coffees are absolutely enjoyable, but the main attraction is the fried chicken and waffles, a massive portion of chickeny waffle goodness. Weekends can be a long wait, 1/2 hour plus for a table.

Purebreads 159 West Hastings Street (at Cambie St)
Open daily from 8am. I would never forgive myself if I did not include the artistry of Purebreads! If you’re looking for the best morning pastry in town, Purebreads is your nirvana. The selection is heaven; crunchy and buttery croissants, savoury turnovers, bacon, sour cream & chive scones, cheese toastie, elaborate cakes and cookies! Good luck picking just one. The coffees are also delightful.

Siegel’s Bagels 1689 Johnston St #22, (in the Public Market)
Granville Island has a lot of choice when it comes to fantastic, local food! But if you want a to enjoy a great day at Granville Island, start with a Siegel’s bagel, a cup of local roasted JJ Beans coffee, and head outside for breakfast with a view,. Open daily from 9 am.

Solly’s Bagelry 368 W 7th Avenue (just across the Cambie Bridge)
Open M-F from 7am, Saturday & Sundays from 8am. If you’re looking for a good bagel, a good smear, matzo ball soup, chocolate bubkas? This is the place. I often swing by on my way to work, and pick up a dozen or two for the office. Have spotted a few celebs here too, enjoying their toasted bagels.
