Diamond Head Cove Health Bar in Honolulu is why I love travel.
It’s a special group of people giving thought into creating a welcoming place and presenting the best local food. Local means locally fresh caught Hawaiian Mahi Mahi, Yellowfin and Big Eye Tuna, and local produce like Molokai tomatoes, Kauai Paa Salt, local avocado, onion, ripe apple bananas, strawberries and organic granola.
But I usually can’t wait till lunch or, definitely not dinner. No, I’m usually there when they open the door in the morning. I tell myself, just one day, and I usually find myself there multiple days. I love the Açai Bowls! Yes they’re meant to be healthy, but they’re super yummy!
The Açai Bowls
I feel like they are made with love, and they’re heaping with tasty, refreshing, and healthy high quality ingredients : frozen açai pulp topped with organic granola, fresh and ripe blueberries, strawberries, and apple bananas, sprinkled with bee pollen, and drizzled with honey. Mmmm. Some of the Waikiki hotels and cafes also do an Açai Bowl usually looking dwarfed or with unripe fruit, but Diamond Head Cove’s are super quality!
Diamond Head Cove Health Bar is a 0.7 mi / 14 minute walk up Monsarrat Ave from Waikiki at Kalakaua Ave and Kapahulu Ave. You’ll find the Health Bar in a small strip mall. But once inside, it’s a life of its own. Packed with photos of surfers and real live surfers as well! The walls are adorned with lots of memorabilia, momentos and a brisk business. It’s Aloha! Enjoy!
